Maiku Lal, is a mango orchardist belongs to Village Sarsanda, District Lucknow, (Uttar Pradesh). Maiku Lal, is an owner of mango orchard of an area of approximate 3 hectare. Average age of his orchard is about 35 years. 2 commercial and 40 non-commercial varieties have been planted by Maiku Lal in his orchard for different purposes. The total commercial varieties in his orchard are 2 out of which Tukmi Chausa, Desi Taimuriya, Tukmi Surkhi and Lamboi Safeda are the important varieties. Besides these commercial varieties, 40 non-commercial varieties have also been sustaining in his orchard. Because of its to develop orchard based on seedlings or some lesser-known varieties, as the best option for sandy soils with limited irrigation facility. the cultivation of diverse mango varieties (both seedling and commercial types) provides income to his family and an orchard with seedlings or lesser-known varieties is also profitable due to its lower establishment and maintenance. and to increase his source of income, he collected different mango varieties from Malihabad . He is also serving society by sharing all his varieties to the surrounding areas. He requires specific markets where they can obtain good prices for non-commercial varieties, as in the general mandi (market) where prices and interest are generally low. to conserve his green wealth and ultimately to maintain & enhance his source of income. He is very hopeful for the future of his orchard, and expects that the next generation will take interest in conservation of existing varieties and also to bring more important variety in his orchard.
