Md Iliyas, is a mango orchardist belongs to Village Malihabad, District Lucknow, (Uttar Pradesh). Md Iliyas, is an owner of mango orchard of an area of approximate 1 bigha. Average age of his orchard is about 100 years. 4 commercial and 6 non-commercial varieties have been planted by Md Iliyas in his orchard for different purposes. The total commercial varieties in his orchard are 4 out of which Chausa, Langra, Dashehari, Mallika, Amrapali and Husnara are the important varieties. Besides these commercial varieties, 6 non-commercial varieties have also been sustaining in his orchard. Because of its source of income and self interest and to increase his source of income, he collected different mango varieties from Malihabad (Lucknow) and self multiplication. He is also serving society by sharing all his varieties to the surrounding areas. He requires management of disease and pest and multiplication of varieties to conserve his green wealth and ultimately to maintain & enhance his source of income.

Mango Varieties of Md Iliyas

As the Md Iliyas said that variety named as Chausa produces excellent quality fruits. It shows late ripening time. Taste of raw fruit in sweet. After ripening, the fruits shows excellent flavoured. no disease has been found to be resisted by the variety. The variety has resistance capacity against no. The variety is not suitable for pickle. Ripe fruits are suitable as table variety. The fruits are suitable for sucking. The peel color is yellow and pulp color is yellow in ripe fruits. The pulp of ripe fruit not comprisesfibres. The fruit is of big size. The taste is the main reason for its demand of this variety in market. No exchange of fruits with any other thing has been reported by Md Iliyas.

As per the perception of Md Iliyas, Langra is good quality of mango variety which ripe during medium season. Taste of raw fruit is sour, flavour of ripe fruit is excellent, unsuitable for pickle, suitable for table, unsuitable for sucking, big size fruit, green yellow peel, yellow pulp, reason of demand is taste. no disease has been found to be resisted in this variety. The variety has resistance capacity against no. Md Iliyas doesn't exchanges fruits of Langra with others.
