Amino acid changes in mango shoots as affected by growth retardants in relation to flowering.

Abstract : Application of Alar [daminozide] or Cycocel [chlormequat] each at 5000 p.p.m. enhanced flowering in the mango cv. Mulgoa, both in on and off years. Twelve amino acids were identified in the shoots. Alanine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid and alpha -aminobutyric acid increased in response to treatment, whereas arginine + histidine decreased.
