Abstract : This study analyses the desirability of using a discount factor of 1/4 on the assessed value of an acquired fruit tree vis-à-vis yield, yearly income and girth patterns in the bearing life of fruit trees, bank rates on fixed deposits and effect of inflation on accumulated amount. Although the study focused on acquired mango trees in the state of Haryana, the results are applicable wherever the practice of one-time discounted payment is followed.
