Abstract : Field tests were carried out in India to test the effectiveness of single and double girdle Alkathene bands in preventing the ascent of mango trees by nymphs of the mango mealy bug [Drosicha mangiferae (Green)]. The double girdle band was the more effective as it stopped the few nymphs that managed to cross the first band.
