Abstract : Field trials were carried out in a mango orchard in Bihar, India, to evaluate the effectiveness of carbaryl, dimethoate, malathion, endosulfan, phosphamidon, demeton-methyl (methyl-demeton), fenitrothion and a mixture of DDT and pyrethrins + piperonyl butoxide (Pyrocolloid) against Amritodus atkinsoni (Leth.). The mortality rates for the various compounds ranged from 39.85% (demeton-methyl) to 66.86% (dimethoate). Dimethoate was 1.67 times as effective as demeton-methyl.
