Abstract : Rapala manea (Hew.) was reported infesting mango in large numbers in Kerala, India, between 1977 and 1979. This was the first record of this pest on mango, and its development was studied in the laboratory. The egg period lasted 2 days, the larval period 13 days and the pupal period 5.5 days. The female oviposited on the newly-formed flower, and the larvae were observed feeding on opened and unopened flowers.
