Abstract : Metaculus mangiferae (Attiah), which causes russetting on terminal buds and inflorescences of mango in Egypt, was reared in the laboratory on excised young terminal leaves of mango at 25-29 deg C and 70% RH, where it took about 7.5 days to complete a generation. Both field and laboratory observations indicated that M. mangiferae was ovoviviparous. In the field, population density increased in spring and early summer, with peaks in late April and early June. Amblyseius swirskii Athias-Henriot appeared to play an important part in reducing the pest population, especially during the summer.
