Abstract : A study was conducted to evaluate the physicochemical characteristics of some tropical fruits, including pineapple cv. Perola, prata banana, mango cv. Tommy, pawpaw, yellow melon and cantaloupe, collected in a supermarket distribution centre, which supplies different shops in the city of Fortaleza, Ceara, Brazil. Under the experimental conditions, the analysed parameters (including size, weight, diameter, texture, soluble solids content and pH) presented satisfactory results; the values obtained were in agreement with the results found in the literature.
