Chemical control of mango anthracnose in Malaysia. In vitro fungitoxicity of selected chemicals.

Abstract : In tests with 15 fungicides and 2 dicrotophos (insecticide) formulations, Glomerella cingulata was extremely sensitive to thiophanates, benzimidazoles and 2 of the N-trichloromethylthio group (ED50 5 mu g/ml). The dithiocarbamates varied in toxicity (ED50 100-580 mu g/ml), while chlorothalonil, iprodione and the insecticides were ineffective. The similarities and differences between and within the fungicide groups tested are discussed in relation to their chemical structure, biochemical modes of action and formulations.ADDITIONAL ABSTRACT:Data are presented on the effects of 15 fungicides and an insecticide on C. gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata].
