Abstract : An experiment was conducted at Regional Horticultural Research Station of Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari (Gujarat) to study an influence of growth retardants spray on flowering, fruiting and yield of mango cv. Kesar. They found that foliar application of cycocel (3000 ppm) before flower bud initiation controlled vegetative growth and induced early flowering as compared to other chemical treatments and control. The treatment cycocel (3000 ppm) also induced early maturity and increased the number of fruits and yield per tree. Maleic hydrazide also checked vegetative growth at higher concentration (1500 ppm) while ethrel (200 ppm) induced early flowering without growth suppression. There was no significant effect on quality in terms of TSS, titratable acidity, reducing sugar, non-reducing sugar, total sugars due to any of the growth retardants treatment.
