Physico-chemical composition of some local cultivars of mango grown in West Bengal.

Abstract : The contents of dry matter, vitamin C, TSS, sugars, protein, P, K, Ca and Mg, and titratable acidity were determined in 30 mango cvs. The data are tabulated. The highest vitamin C content was in the cv. Aswina (91 mg/100 g). The highest TSS contents were in the cvs Himsagar, Bhabani Chawras, Misarikant and Ranibhog. Total sugar was highest in Chakraborty Khas (30.3%).
