Effect of deblossoming and alfa-naphthylacetic acid on floral malformation and productivity of mango.

Abstract : The effects of NAA (100-300 p.p.m.) or deblossoming in one season or NAA + deblossoming were studied on 6 uniform branches of the mango cvs Summer Bahist Chausa and Dashehari affected by floral malformation in the previous season. NAA at 200 p.p.m. applied in early October + deblossoming at bud burst was the most effective treatment in reducing the incidence of floral malformation in both cvs. The number of panicles/shoot and the number of fruits/panicle were significantly increased in Dashehari, but not in the other cv., by deblossoming alone or in combination with NAA at 200 p.p.m.
