Abstract : Shoot terminals that were expected to differentiate fruit buds were collected periodically from 25-year-old trees of the mango cv. Alphonso. Data are tabulated on the content of 14 amino acids at the 3 stages. Amino acids markedly increased, both qualitatively and quantitatively, during fruit bud differentiation. Their levels declined after the emergence of flower panicles. The process of fruit bud differentiation was especially associated with the metabolism of arginine and glutamic acid.
