Abstract : Irrespective of fixed and roving survey conducted over two years viz., 2013 and 2014 over four different districts of North Karnataka indicated occurrence of nine species of scale insects viz., Coccus hesperidum (L.), Ceroplastes stellifer (Westwood), Pseudaulacaspis sp., Hemiberlesia lataniae (Signoret), Saissetia oleae (Oliver), Hemilecanium imbricans (Green), Ceroplastes rubens (Maskell), Aulacaspis tubercularis (Newst.), Pulvinaria psidi (Maskell) on mango. However, among the nine species H. imbricans was the most dominant species in both fixed and roving survey. Among four villages surveyed, the infestation of H. imbricans was higher in Navalur and Kelageri villages compared to Jogeyellapur and Mugad. Incidence of H. imbricans was more in Dharwad and Gadag districts as compared to Belgaum. Haveri district recorded no incidence of H. imbricans.
