Abstract : The authors discuss the management of arthropod pests of subtropical fruits in the USA. Management programmes have not been adequately developed for avocadoes, limes, mangoes, papayas, litchis (lychees) and other subtropical fruits. The use of parasites and resistant varieties in such programmes shows promise. The main arthropod pests of the fruits in Florida and other subtropical areas include fruit-flies, mites, scale insects and thrips.
