Abstract : A field experiment was conducted at Mango Research Sub-Centre, Rameshwar, Tal. Deogad, District Sindhudurg (Maharashtra) during the year 2013-14 to study the vegetative flush and flowering of mango (Mangifera indica L.) cultivars. Location is situated in hard lateritic rocky conditions under south Konkan coastal zone and mango fruits from this distinct locality have high worth in mango market. Uniform, 20 years old mango trees of different six cultivars, viz. Alphonso, Kesar, Ratna, Sindhu, Pairi and Goa mankur were, selected for the study. In the month of June, the maximum vegetative flush (76.25%) was recorded in Pairi variety followed by Kesar (67.50%) and Alphonso (65.00%). In September-October, the minimum vegetative flush (27.50%) was in Ratna variety and the maximum vegetative flush (56.25%) was in Pairi variety. The rest of the varieties were on par with each other. The maximum flowering (74.00%) was in Kesar variety. The highest fruit yield (43.34 kg) was recorded in Kesar variety which was closely followed by Alphonso.
