Abstract : General leaf's morphology and anatomy of species Mangifera indica L., Anacardium occidentale L., Spondias tuberosa Arruda and Spondias purpurea L. occurring in the city of Picos, Piauí were the pattern used in this study as a basis to look for differences in the structure of leaf morphological and anatomical of species belonging to the family Anacardiaceae. Morphoanatomy foliar studies is important for understanding the species adaptation of the family members and to provide additional data to external morphological characteristics that can be used to solve taxonomic problems. The botanical material was collected, identified and prepared according to usual techniques that area. Morphometric variations were detected among species and individuals by performing anatomical sections of the blade and petiole following usual techniques of plant histology, similarities and differences between species was demonstrated. Various species share morphoanatomic characters, however, its can be distinguished by trichomes tipes and calcium oxalate crystals and differential occurrence of stomata in epidermal surfaces.
