Abstract : During the year various viral and bacterial vaccines were developed and tested in laboratory and field trials. In a serological survey for canine leptospirosis 37% dogs were positive. Gallitichus hiregoudari and Megnini bakeri mites were recognised for the first time. Microlichus gandi mites were recovered from pigeons for the first time. Pulmonary adenomatosis (jaagsiekte) was identified in 10% of slaughter house material.ADDITIONAL ABSTRACT:Research on onions, garlic, radishes, watermelons, bottle gourds [Lagenaria siceraria], cabbages, beans [Phaseolus], eggplants, capsicums, tomatoes, oranges, bananas, coconuts, mangoes and sugarcane is reported.
