Abstract : The red banded mango fruit borer (RBMFB), Autocharis albizonalis Hampson has appeared in serious proportion in the mango growing areas of West Bengal particularly in the districts of Malda, Murshidabad, Nadia and Hooghly causing 10-52% damage. The insecticides namely, alphamethrin 10 EC, Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt.), dichlorvos 76 EC and monocrotophos 36 SL in different mixed combinations were evaluated against this pest in the private orchard of Murshidabad, West Bengal. A sticker, valvetŪ was used during each spraying. The treatment (T2) where mixture of alphamethrin 10 EC and dichlorvos 76 EC was used, registered minimum infestation and highest net incremental benefit-cost ratio of 1: 10.3. While, in other two treatments (T1 and T3), where alphamethrin 10 EC, Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt.) and monocrotophos 36 SL were used, performed also better but in most of the cases these were statistically at par.
