Abstract : Of an estimated 250 000 mango trees in Senegal, 95% are seedling trees yielding small fruit of poor quality. A large scale rehabilitation programme is in progress and over 1000 trees have been topworked with introduced material of several varieties. The conventional techniques used are described; fruit is produced within 2 years of grafting.
