Abstract : In a field test with 4 insecticides for the control of Deporaus marginatus (Pasc.) on mango in Selangor, West Malaysia, deltamethrin applied at 0.0022% toxicant was the most effective of the compounds tested, reducing the number of cut shoots from 44.9 (for no treatment) to 4.9% and retaining its toxicity for up to 2 weeks. Deltamethrin was followed, in order of decreasing effectiveness, by etrimfos at 0.075%, acephate at 0.082% and dicrotophos at 0.053% (which had previously been widely used for the control of this species).
