Abstract : The diseases discussed in this review from the Philippines include sooty mould on mango (which is a very reliable indicator of infestation by insects that secrete honeydew, such as leafhoppers, scale insects and mealybugs) and papaya mosaic on papaya (which is caused by an aphid-transmitted virus).
