Abstract : In view of previous confusion in the genus Pseudischnaspis, the 2 species now recognised as valid are redescribed, P. acephala Ferris from the adult female and the first-instar nymph and P. bowreyi (Ckll.) (with which a third species is synonymised) from the adult male and female and the first-instar nymph. Both these species were found on mango, guava and other tropical fruits, besides Citrus spp. and various ornamental and other plants. The 1st species is recorded from Mexico, Central and South America and the 2nd species also from the USA and the West Indies. Lectotypes are designated where necessary.
