Abstract : The most important differences between fruits of the three cultivars studied were as follows: (1) cis-?-ocimene was the major component of Jaffna while ?-terpinolene was that of Willard and Parrot, (2) the majority of esters in Jaffna were unsaturated and (3) nonterpene hydrocarbons, including six long-chain alkanes, were particularly high (19%) in Willard.
