Abstract : Bacterial isolates from trunk and branch cankers and from diseased fruits were identified respectively as Erwinia carotovora and E. mangifera. When green fruits of 23 varieties were inoculated with two isolates of each species, Julie and Amini displayed resistance to E. carotovora and showed only mild symptoms of infection with E. mangifera. All other varieties were susceptible to both species.
