Abstract : A change from mixed-cropping of Piper nigrum on specially raised live standard plants to companion-cropping on existing coconut, arecanut, mango or other trees is proposed with details on site selection and soil, selection of planting material, replanting and underplanting, manuring, and plant protection, mainly against Phytophthora palmivora.
