Effects of urea and GA3 sprays on the growth, flowering and fruiting characters of mango.

Abstract : In 2-year trials, 15-year-old trees of the cv. Dashehari were treated with 3 or 6% urea and/or GA3 at 15 or 30 p.p.m. on 5 and again on 20 January. Data are tabulated on length of terminal shoot, number of leaves/shoot, leaf area, panicle length, number of secondary branches/panicle, flowering duration, number of flowers/panicle, sex ratio, fruit set, fruit retention and yield/panicle. Fruit set (62.8%), fruit retention (3.17%) and yield/panicle (265.4 g) were highest in trees treated with urea + GA3 at the higher rates.
