Abstract : In trials in June, July and August, 5-, 10- or 15-day-old seedling rootstocks were grafted with 1-, 2- or 4-month-old shoots of the scion cultivars Bombai, Himsagar and Langra. The combination of 5-day-old seedling rootstocks and 1-month-old scion shoots gave the highest success rate, and scions 10 cm long gave better results than those 5 or 15 cm long. Also better results were obtained grafting at 5 cm than at 2 or 7 cm above the rootstock collar. The responses of all cultivars were similar as were the success rate in all 3 months.
