Abstract : Mangoes (cv. Harumanis) packed in corrugated fibreboard cartons transported in unrefrigerated trucks arrived in very good condition with little mechanical damage. Although the incidence of postharvest rots was low, the use of a benomyl dip (800 ?g/ml for 10 minutes) significantly reduced infection. Since the method of packaging (tight pack vs. individual pack) did not produce significant effects on physical damage, rots or firmness, the cheaper and more convenient tight pack is recommended.
