Studies on floral induction, sex expression and fruit drop in relation to alternate bearing habit of "Langra" and "Ewais" mango cultivars.

Abstract : In the on year flower bud induction in both cultivars started in the second half of October whereas in the off year it started 2 weeks later. The percentage of perfect flowers in both cultivars in the on year was markedly greater than in the off year. The percentage of fruit drop either at the marble or mature stage was similar in the on and off years in both cultivars.
