Abstract : The fruiting index (the relation between tree canopy and number of fruits) was calculated for 16-year-old trees of cultivars Glenn, Haden, Julie, Sensation, Smith and Zill growing in a dry tropical forest region with low soil fertility. Cultivars Julie (small) and Sensation (medium), with fruiting indices of 9.68 and 8.22, respectively, were the most suitable for this area.
