Abstract : The seeds of Super Haden contained almost 60% starch and the figure was over 50% in both the other varieties. Goran was the richest in crude protein, with 4.95%, while Reina de México had the highest percentage of oils, though also of tannins. The seeds of all three varieties are judged suitable for use as poultry food, as long as tannin contents are reduced by a suitable extraction process.
