Abstract : The phosphorus content of five year old mango (Mangifera indica) was determined at monthly intervals for a year, and expressed for various plant parts as the weight of phosphorus per tree or as a percentage of the amount in the whole tree. There were no significant monthly variations. The mean proportion of phosphorus was greatest in stems (36%), followed by leaves (25%) and wood (22%); proportions in bark (7%), roots (6%) and flowers/fruits (3%) were small.
