Climatic effects on the flowering and fruiting of woody perennial fruit trees in Zanzibar.

Abstract : Studies were made on 28 woody perennial species (belonging to 14 families) including mangoes, avocados, jackfruits, citrus and litchis. Their seasonal periodicity of flowering and fruiting was recorded and related to meteorological records. The role of endogenous and exogenous factors affecting flowering and fruiting of the different species is discussed.
