Abstract : Dipping fruits in 500, 750 or 1000 p.p.m. ethephon reduced the occurrence of spongy tissue. The treatments also enhanced ripening by 2 to 3 days. However, ethephon at 750 or 1000 p.p.m. slightly reduced keeping quality but the 500 p.p.m. rate was not detrimental.
