Abstract : A climatic model was developed to select suitable locations from observations at 10 experimental sites. The model was used with long term mean climatic data to evaluate nearly 600 locations for: frost risk; suitable growing temperatures; disease risk at flowering and early fruit set; irrigation requirements; and maturity date.
