Mango varietal improvement programme in the dry tropics.

Abstract : Fifty-five mango accessions were evaluated. Cultivars selected as maturing up to 2 weeks earlier than Kensington (the standard commercial cv.) were Banana-1, Glenn and Earlygold. Mid-season cultivars selected were Haden, Fascell, Van Dyke, Momi-K and Kent Seedling R2E2, which generally matured about the same time as Kensington. Late-season cultivars were Kent, Keitt, Nam Doc Mai and Zillate, which matured up to 6 weeks later than Kensington.
