Abstract : Anthracnose (Glomerella cingulata var. minor) and stem-end rots (Dothiorella dominicana and other fungi) are the most damaging post-harvest diseases. Anthracnose was controlled and stem-end rot reduced by dipping (5 minutes) in water at 52°C containing benomyl at 500 ?g/ml. The advantages and disadvantages of this treatment are discussed. In an unheated dip, prochloraz controlled anthracnose but not stem-end rot. The results are discussed in relation to control by irradiation.
