Abstract : Idioscopus clypealis, a minor pest of mango, occurs in Asia from Pakistan in the west to the Philippines in the east. Attention is drawn to recurring variations in the colour markings of the adult males and females, especially on the head. Although some of these variations are geographically isolated, typical forms are found in the same localities, and assignment of separate names to these colour forms as geographic races is not considered to be appropriate.
