Phytoseiidae of Papua New Guinea, with three new species, and new records of Tetranychidae (Acari).

Abstract : Three new phytoseiids are described from Papua New Guinea, including Typhlodromus dominiquae sp. n. from females collected on mangoes, Tagetes erecta and Tecoma stans. The male of Amblyseius ovaloides is described for the first time from individuals collected on maize, sweet potatoes, Artocarpus incisa [A. altilis], T. stans and Euphorbia pulcherrima. Records of 8 other phytoseiids are given, including Amblyseius deleoni [A. herbicolus], A. largoensis, A. longispinosus, A. peltatus, A. tamatavensis, Phytoseius hawaiiensis, P. hongkongensis and P. rubiginosae, all from various plants of economic importance, including rice, maize, taro, cassava, Psophocarpus tetragonolobus, mangoes, citrus, coconuts and cotton. Amongst tetranychids collected in association with these phytoseiids were the following, recorded from the first time from Papua New Guinea: Eutetranychus africanus, Panonychus elongatus, Oligonychus biharensis, O. plegas, Tetranychus fijiensis, T. kanzawai, T. lambi, T. neocaledonicus, T. piercei and T. urticae.
