Abstract : Tabulated data are presented on the reaction of seven apple varieties, eight mango varieties, five potato varieties and five tomato varieties following inoculation of their fruits or tubers with Rh. arrhizus, Rh. oryzae and Rh. stolonifer. Only the apple variety Yellow Newton and the tomato varieties Sioux and SL120 escaped severe infection.ADDITIONAL ABSTRACT:Soft rots of apple, mango, potato, banana and tomato caused by R. arrhizus, R. oryzae and R. stolonifer increased with higher temps (20-40 deg C). Good infection occurred at all RH levels but the rot developed rapidly at RH 50% and above. None of the commercial vars. tested was resistant.
