Abstract : The curculionid Sternochetus mangiferae was detected infesting mango seeds in St. Lucia and then in Martinique and Guadeloupe, in the second half of 1984. This is the first record of this pest in the Western Hemisphere. It is suspected to occur on other Caribbean islands.
