Abstract : Fruits of apple, mango, guava and lemon infected with B. theobromae showed higher polyphenoloxidase, cytochrome oxidase and dehydrogenase activity than healthy ones. Peroxidase increased in rotten apple and lemon but remained suppressed in guava and mango. Catalase activity exhibited a general decrease in infected fruits. The metabolic interactions of various oxidases and their role in pathogenesis are discussed.
