Studies of latent infection of mango in Hainan Island.

Abstract : Latent infection by several fungi including Colletotrichum gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata], C. acutatum, Alternaria sp. and Diplodia sp. was demonstrated in fruits lacking either symptoms or wounds. The pathogenicity of the isolates was demonstrated. Most of the latent infections occurred in the peel of fruits or at the stem ends, but their location varied with changes in weather.
