Abstract : Seedlings were raised in Pakistan from seed obtained beneath 3 trees in Nigeria. Data recorded on the nature and extent of polyembryony revealed an array of continuous series of monoembryonic to decaembryonic seeds that occurred in definite proportions in the progeny from each tree. Seedlings from polyembryonic and monoembryonic seeds behaved similarly in terms of seedling survival. The data recorded did not support the view that polyembryony is determined by a genetically dominant factor.
