Effect of 2,4-D and GA3 on fruit drop and fruit quality of mango (Mangifera indica L.) cv. Samar Bahist Chausa.

Abstract : 2,4-D at 5-15 p.p.m. or GA3 at 50-150 p.p.m. was applied to 18-year-old trees at the pin-head stage (late March), pea stage (11 April) and again at the marble stage (26 April). The best control of fruit drop was obtained with 2,4-D at 10 p.p.m. and the next best with GA3 at 150 p.p.m., which also gave the best fruit quality.
