Preliminary study on the relation between soil properties and mango malformation.

Abstract : In studies at several localities, soil samples were taken from the root zone of affected and non-affected trees, at depths ranging from 0 to 120 cm. The results of soil analyses are tabulated. The occurrence of panicle malformation was attributed to a decrease in the availability of Cu and Zn in subsurface soil layers, especially on sandy soils, and/or poor soil and water management.
