Abstract : Mature green cv. Bourbon mangoes were treated within 12 h of harvesting with (i) 500 or (ii) 1000 p.p.m. thiophanate-methyl, (iii) 500 p.p.m. thiophanate-methyl + 500 p.p.m. dichloran, or (iv) 500 p.p.m. thiabendazole, and ripened at 20-25°C for 7 days. No treatment gave complete control of anthracnose (Geotrichum gleoesporioides [Glomerella cingulata]) but treatment (ii) gave good control followed in effectiveness by (i). Treatment (i) left no detectable residue but after treatment (ii) 0.2 p.p.m. thiophanate-methyl was found.
