Growth parameters affected by azotobacterization of mango seedlings in comparison to different nitrogen doses.

Abstract : One-year-old mango seedlings growing in pots were treated with Azotobacter chroococcum alone or with various N levels (16, 32 or 48 g/plant, as urea), and were compared with untreated controls and seedlings treated only with N. The greatest percentage increases in seedling height, seedling diameter, number of leaves and chlorophyll content (compared with controls) were obtained with the following treatment, respectively: 48 g N, Azotobacter + 48 g N, 32 g N or Azotobacter alone, and Azotobacter alone.
